A.M.F Snaps and Swarovski inspire bejeweled accessories design
Swarovski Gemstones was happy to co-host a three-day IMAGINARIUM
workshop with A.M.F Snaps – makers of metal and non-metal accessories for garments, shoes and leather goods – in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. Bejeweled accessories have long been a staple in the fast-paced fashion industry, but a slower movement has brought changes towards everlasting preciousness.
Genuine gemstones and zirconia are gaining momentum and growing outside
their traditional jewelry domain and the two companies teamed up to highlight future trends and application methods.
Fashion jewelry and accessories designers experienced new materials, technologies and customized solutions, and admired a collection of bijoux,
buttons and accessories belonging to the Ennio Marangoni Archive, now owned by the Swarovski Group - 1100 buttons and broches and more than 70 jewelry pieces that were worn on major stages all over the world by iconic artists
such as Maria Callas. Participants were invited to travel through time and take inspiration from various epochs: from the discovery of the archive pieces
dating back to the 1930s, to a TECH area where A.M.F designers
demonstrated the craftsmanship of the future.
“We are proud to collaborate with Swarovski, a company with a long and treasured philosophy of inspirational and innovative excellence and a model for any company involved in a b2b business” said Carmen Toffanello, CEO of A.M.F.
Daniel J. Cohen – Swarovski Executive Board Member:
“A.M.F is an ideal partner for Swarovski to extend our long tradition of material and application innovation to new areas. Together, our introduction of Zirconia into the fashion industry further leverages and underlines the flexibility, agility and creativity of both companies. It is a perfect fit and the reason why we have agreed to jointly explore this path. Since my first visit in Bassano, I have been impressed by the customer-oriented and flexible nature of A.M.F and their unique project management abilities: a true inspiration.”
