Partners Montana Silversmiths bring Swarovski Zirconia sparkle to PBR Global Cup Trophy
Swarovski Gemstones branding partner Montana Silversmiths have recently incorporated unique Swarovski Zirconia sparkle into a global trophy that celebrates a new international competition for professional bull riders. The use of these Swarovski created stones on a sporting trophy set to travel the world is a perfect example of the broad range of applications for Swarovski Zirconia that go far beyond traditional jewelry.
According to Montana Silversmiths, a company that designs and produces western-themed jewelry, belt buckles, and other accessories, the PBR Global Cup was nine months in the making – from initial sketches to the final product. The trophy stands 24 inches (61cm) tall, is 17.5 inches (44.5cm) across and features five 19-inch (48cm) ‘bullhorns,' one representing each of the competing nations. The first victory went to Team USA, and the competition goes to Canada, Australia, Brazil, and Mexico during the season.
The PBR Cup was the result of inspiration from PBR and Montana Silversmith’s lead designer. A well-known Washington DC graffiti artist decorated the artwork on each of the five bullhorns in the national colors of the competing countries. Each horn is embellished with 63 x 10 mm Swarovski Zirconia in colors to match the country flag, making a total of 360 stones.
The horns also serve as a vessel with an internal cap, and the winner of each battle round scoops up the dirt from the competition arena to hold in their country's horn until they meet in the next clash. Montana Silversmiths report that the Global Cup is a traveling trophy that remains in the competition until one country rises above the rest and can fill the horns. The tour also guarantees that 360 Swarovski Zirconia will shine on three continents during the year as the trophy makes its journey, together with the athletes of this adrenalin-packed sport.
