Swarovski Created Diamonds
Inspired by nature and driven by science
Swarovski is renowned for its constant exploration of innovative materials and its unstinting technological evolution. Daniel Swarovski, the company’s founder, was a visionary scientist and inventor with an eye for beauty and deep respect for nature. Today his vision is reflected in Swarovski Created Diamonds, first launched at Baselworld in 2017.
A lab-created diamond begins its life much like a plant does – as a seed. Using ground-breaking technology, a tiny diamond seed is nurtured with carbon atoms under extreme heat and high pressure to speed up the extraordinary diamond formation process. Layer by layer, the diamond grows and forms before being precision-cut to perfection by master cutters.
Just as greenhouse-grown orchids are 100% orchid, Swarovski Created Diamonds are 100% diamond, possessing the same hardness, chemical composition, brilliance and fire as mined diamonds.
They are also graded according to the ‘4 Cs’. To identify them as lab-created diamonds, Swarovski Created Diamonds larger than 3 mm have a laser-engraving, visible only under a microscope. Finished jewelry pieces can be labelled with a bespoke Swarovski quality seal.
Swarovski Created Diamonds represent a responsible choice. Atelier Swarovski underlines its ongoing commitment to conscious luxury by choosing Swarovski Created Diamonds for its fine jewelry collections. Premiering amid the buzz of the Oscars in 2017, the dazzling pieces have since appeared on stars such as Penélope Cruz, Naomie Harris and Emma Roberts on red carpets around the world. Following a partnership with Fairtrade, Atelier Swarovski has also committed to using responsibly sourced gold in all its fine jewelry collections.
Lab-created diamonds, inspired by nature and driven by science, mark a thrilling new chapter in the story of man’s fascination with the earth’s most precious treasures.
