Casting in Place / Lost Wax Casting is the jewelry industry’s preferred process for creating precise duplicates from an original piece of jewelry, the so-called masterpiece. This method is especially advantageous when you wish to develop designs requiring multiple stones set in metals with low melting points – like brass, silver and gold. (Stainless steel is excluded from this process.) Casting in Place / Lost Wax Casting is best used with round stones of up to 3mm in size. You can choose other variously shaped stones but do bear in mind that they will be more difficult to set properly.
